10/2012 General Meeting: How Affirmative Action affects the “Model Minority”

How Affirmative Action affects the "Model Minority" [General Meeting]   AASiA hosted the first general meeting of the year. The topic was on affirmative action, and we specifically focused on how affirmative action affects Asian American students of various backgrounds. In the general meeting, there was an open discussion about the Fisher v. Texas Supreme Court case that could potentially terminate race-conscious admission policies, and we examined 80-20’s arguments against affirmative action.

Thank you to everyone who came to our first general meeting! If you had any questions or feedback, or if you are interested in submitting ideas for the next general meeting please send an email to Frank Zheng(fz1@williams.edu), Jamie Baik(jsb1@williams.edu, or Linda Chu(lc2@williams.edu).
