Dragonsky and The Appalachian Trail: experience from the fringe

Dragonsky (trail name: Through-hikers earn a ‘trail name’ along the way) grew up in an urban environment and was in her mid-twenties before she ever stepped foot in the forest.  What started out as a whim ended up directing the next few years of her life as she realized the lack of diversity in outdoor recreation opportunities and instead of just complaining about the situation, choose to help usher in a new, more diverse community into the forests, trails and wilderness of our world.  Step by step, mile by mile, she completed the Appalachian trail in early November 2021. The DC is very excited to be able to have Dragonsky visit and share her experiences with us.
Please consider joining the Davis Center at the Jenness house on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 12:30-1:30 to hear more about the background, inspiration, and experiences that got Dragonsky here, today.
In lieu of lunch, the DC is providing trail snacks that you can take with you for your next adventure, even if it’s just across campus.
